Kirby’s Dream Collection Coming to America September 16

Nintendo has announced via twitter that Kirby’s Dream Collection has been given a release date of September 16th for American shores. The Wii compilation will package six of Kirby’s classic games together on one convenient disc; Kirby’s Dreamland 1, 2, and 3; Kirby’s Adventure, Kirby Super Star, and Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards.

It’s difficult to find anyone who will criticize the classic Kirby platformers. Kirby’s Adventure launched his popularity as one of the last great NES games, and the pink puffball has been an A-list mainstay amongst Nintendo’s popular mascots ever since. Recent years have led to some mixed reception, but ultimately, the character has proved to be endearing thanks to Super Smash Bros. and those wonderful rosy cheeks.

Personally, each of the games is worth a spot on the compilation for the sake of history, but the Gameboy games could have been scrapped for Kirby’s Dream Course. Nothing wrong with a little isometric Kirby mini-golf in between your platforming.
