U.S. Cellular will join Verizon, T-Mobile and AT&T (the confirmed carriers, so far) by offering Windows Phone 8 devices later this year. Speaking with Sascha Segan from PCMag recently, U.S. cellular said it is “excited” to offer phones running Microsoft’s latest mobile operating system. “We believe in giving our customers the latest technology and device options and we are excited about the Windows 8 phone,” a spokesperson told PCMag. “It will be an important part of our device lineup going forward.” The devices will reportedly support U.S. Cellular’s budding 4G LTE network, as well as its existing CDMA one, and will launch in the fall. U.S. Cellular didn’t say which manufacturers will provide the devices, but Nokia, Huawei, HTC and Samsung are Microsoft’s Windows Phone 8 partners.
