San Diego’s Unified School District recently purchased 26,000 iPads and will deploy them in 340 classrooms throughout its school system in the fall, according to a report from San Diego’s 10 News. The district decided to purchase the iPad 2 and, while the whole cost is roughly $15 million, the school district will save $30 on each iPad 2 unit thanks to Apple’s education discount. The school system was able to afford the purchase through government funding that specifically sets aside cash to keep the technology in classrooms up to date.
