Google will announce a $199 7-inch tablet at tomorrow’s I/O conference, Bloomberg’s unnamed sources confirmed on Tuesday. The Asus-made Nexus device will reportedly be shown off to developers sporting a new version of of Android, dubbed Jelly Bean, which is an update we’ve heard a lot about over the past several months. In fact, the mobile OS was all but confirmed at its Google campus Tuesday, as the company’s tradition of erecting statues of its latest OS flavor outed a cup of jelly beans.
Additionally, a leak from Monday revealed just about everything we’d want to know about Google’s upcoming tablet: Tegra 3 processor, NFC, and storage options of 8GB and 16GB. Of course, it’s not like we didn’t already know the Asus-made device wasn’t coming. Only hours before our expectations are either met or fall short; Anticipation couldn’t be higher.
