Apple already revealed a ton of details surrounding its next iOS mobile operating system, iOS 6. The company opted to include its own mapping application this time around, instead of Google Maps, and it will reportedly feature an option that will allow users to check-in to points of interest and alert nearby friends of their location. Bloomberg reported on the story and said that Yelp was found in an early iOS 6 build that was seeded to developers. Apple has already said that iOS 6 will tightly integrate Facebook, much like Twitter is integrated into iOS 5, and we expect that Facebook check-ins will also be available. It’s unclear why FourSquare has been left out this round, but hopefully Apple adds support for that popular location-based service as well.
