Verizon announced on Friday that Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich is now available for the Motorola DROID RAZR and the Motorola DROID RAZR MAXX. The update also makes those two smartphones the first 4G LTE devices on Verizon that are capable of voice and data services on global networks in more than 220 countries. Verizon customers will need an international data plan to take advantage of that roaming support, however. Android 4.0 brings a host of enhancements over Android 2.3 Gingerbread, including a much cleaner user interface, face unlock, better voice-to-text support and a customizable “direct access lock screen” that allows users to quickly launch an application on their smartphones while the phone is locked.
