Google CEO Misses Investor Meeting, Won’t be at Google I/O Either

I remember when Google first unveiled the G1 Android smartphone and Lary Page came rollerblading out into the press conference — it was hilarious and a nice touch to the event. Unfortunately, however, Page won’t be making a presence at the company’s annual Google I/O developers conference next week. He also recently missed an investor meeting, Reuters said. According to Google chairman Eric Schmidt, Page “lost his voice,” but it’s unclear why he will still not be able to make next week’s event or why he won’t speak during Google’s second quarter earnings call in July. We don’t like to probe into the personal lives of executives, but Page’s health condition seems concerning and serious enough to keep him out of the circuit for several weeks. Hopefully he’s up on his rollerblades in full health again soon.
