Apple is reportedly preparing to unleash its next big version of OS X at the end of July. Sources speaking with MacRumors claim Apple has issued an “all hands on deck” vacation blackout for its desktop and portables division during July 22 through the 29. Unless the Cupertino company plans on introducing new iMac or Mac mini hardware, I’d say Mountain Lion is a lock.
At the Cupertino company’s annual WWDC earlier this month, Apple revealed its new desktop OS would be available in July, but didn’t provide an exact date. Issuing an all hands on deck is all the confirmation we need without hearing directly from Apple. When it hits, both Lion and Snow Leopard users can experience features like Notifications, Power Nap and AirPlay, all for just $19.99.
