Here’s What the Windows Phone 8 Start Screen Will Look Like [Video]

Microsoft’s new Windows Phone 8 start screen takes all the best elements of Windows Phone’s live tiles — elegant organization, simplicity and real time information — and makes them even better. Now, users can customize their experience to mirror their individual personality. Like sports? Make your ESPN app double wide so it spans the entire width of the display. Or if you just want as much information as possible, make all your important app sizes small so you have a densely comprehensive, yet clean, grid. No matter what, though, everything remains organized and pretty (and you get new colors), so the experience is simple and intuitive. The good news for existing Windows Phone users: Microsoft’s new mobile start screen will be made available to Windows Phone 7.5 handsets in an update dubbed “Windows Phone 7.8.” The full Windows Phone 8 update, however, will not be making its way to current WP devices.
