There’s a lot of buzz around the Internet suggesting that Verizon’s Galaxy S III has been delayed.
It has not been delayed: the company didn’t come out and specifically say exactly when the phone would be available, so it would be unfair to say there’s some sort of holdup. Verizon tests its thoroughly phones and prefers to launch its devices when there’s enough stock available for everyone who wants a unit. The carrier’s site currently says that pre-orders placed now (today) will ship by July 11. That’s right on a par with what Samsung promised when it said Verizon’s models will ship in a few weeks. Verizon, unlike other carriers, never said that it would ship the device on June 21st.
So, in other words, if you’re a Verizon Wireless subscriber, and want the Galaxy S III, you should expect a shipment notice around July 11th. We’ll keep you updated when Verizon provides a specific in-store launch date.
