Microsoft said its Surface for Windows RT will be priced competitively with other current devices. Like, maybe, Kindle Fire cheap? While we fully expect Amazon to introduce a new Fire or two by the end of this year, many folks will be wondering how the diminutive Android tab stacks up against Microsoft’s new wunderkind. The Surface for Windows RT is aimed squarely at the average consumer — you, me, mom, dad — meaning the Fire will be up against even more stiff competition in the already crowded tablet market. We know which we prefer: Surface. Not only does it offer 32GB and 64GB storage options, but those drool-worthy Touch and Type smart covers as well. The Kindle Fire is admittedly seven months old already, and the Surface is still at least four months from hitting consumer hands. Despite these facts, let’s see how the two stack up, shall we?
