Apple iOS 6 MapsTomTom has officially confirmed its involvement with Apple’s new Maps app in iOS 6. On its website, the Dutch company said, “TomTom has signed a global agreement with Apple for maps and related information. No further details of the agreement will be provided.” The GPS company currently provides up to date mapping info, including dynamic route planning and live traffic. Teaming up with Apple would see TomTom supply its geographic knowhow to the iPhone maker and essentially act as the brains of iOS 6’s turn-by-turn nav. Details and speculation is sparse regarding TomTom’s “related information” comment, so it’ll be interesting to see what gets dug up in the next few weeks or months.
