Sprint is No Longer a Majority Owner of Clearwire

Sprint no longer owns more than 50 percent of Clearwire, the company it invested in for its 4G WiMAX network rollout. Reuters, which first reported on the story, said that Sprint is now able to increase its ability the vote on Clearwire’s future without harming its own books. “Now that our economic interest has fallen below 50 percent, we are reclaiming our full voting rights so that our voting rights and economic rights are once again aligned,” a Sprint spokesperson told Reuters.
