Apple’s New Passbook App is Your Centralized Hub For All Your Tickets

by Brandon Russell | June 11, 2012June 11, 2012 11:42 am PDT

Apple PassbookPassbook wants to make all your tickets digital. The new app in iOS 6 collects stuff like boarding passes, coupons, gift cards, and movie and sports tickets and organizes them neatly on your device. That means you’ll have a mobile barcode places can scan, and never need to fumble around and keep track of tickets again. For unorganized folk out there, including myself, this is a huge feature for iOS users. The really great thing about Passbook is that it’s location-based, meaning when you go to see that new Batman movie, your ticket will automatically pop up on your lockscreen when you get to the theatre. This is a huge hint that we may see NFC in the future from Apple.
