ASUS PadFoneIf you’ve had your eye on the mobile Frankenstein coming out of the ASUS camp, today is your lucky day. Word trickling through back channels of the Internet have made it known that the Padfone is now available via Australia’s Mobicity. The device, which we got our hands-on earlier this year, is basically a smartphone, tablet and notebook all in one thanks to ASUS’ excellent ability to “transform” its handsets.

By itself, the Padfone features a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED qHD display, Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 dual-core processor, 8-megapixel camera and ICS. Pairing it with the Padfone Station, and suddenly you have a 10.1-inch tablet with 5 time the battery. Unfortunately, the device will run you 899 AUD (US$890), but it’ll come unlocked. If the price doesn’t frighten you (like it does me), you can hit up Mobicity’s site now┬áto pick up the goods.
