Dropbox Update for Android 4.0 Introduces Video Streaming

Dropbox bannerYou can now stream video straight from Dropbox thanks to a “custom-tailored” update that was released for Android 4.0 on Thursday. The 2.1.4 version works like you’d expect: select a video within Dropbox and it’ll begin streaming, rather than presenting a download prompt, The Verge said; users can still download files by hitting export, however. A variety of file formats allegedly work, including MP4, M4V and MKV. In addition, the new update now brings Korean language support to the table. If you picked up a device like the HTC One X, which offers 25GB of free storage, you now have another way of streaming The Office over both Wi-Fi and mobile data networks. It’s definitely a great option for phones that don’t offer expandable memory. I’m looking at you, Galaxy Nexus.
