Windows Phone 8 Allegedly Introducing Global Search Feature

by Mark Hearn | May 29, 2012May 29, 2012 11:45 am PDT

The Windows Phone 8 rumor stew has been stirring for quite a while, but we can now add a dash of new flavor to this mix. The newest feature claimed to be coming to Microsoft’s mobile operating system is “global search,” which allows users to perform a search query among apps, contacts, games and pretty much anything else within your phone’s catalog. Word of this new enhancement comes from an anonymous source of Insiders.

If this claim checka out, this will place Windows Phone on par with both Android and iOS, which currently offer similar search options. In addition to keeping up with its competition, this alleged feature will also place Windows Phone in alignment with Windows 8, which offers a similar feature as well.
