If you were to tell me you have plans to buy the Transformer Pad 300, I’d tell you it’s an excellent tablet. Then I’d recommend you hold off for a month or so, because an upgraded version looks to be hitting AT&T very soon. So far as we could tell, the FCC filing seems to hint that we can expect the addition of LTE, but little else.
Does this mean folks will get both Tegra 3 and LTE? That much isn’t clear yet. Just like the recent One X and EVO 4G LTE, the upgraded Transformer Pad 300 will probably hit stateside equipped with a Snapdragon S4 so that it plays nice with LTE technology. However, NVIDIA announced just yesterday that AT&T certified its Icera 410 chip, meaning LTE support is a possibility.
It seems unlikely the Pad 300 would be the first device to christen the Tegra 3 LTE market; We’d expect a much more flagship device to hold that honor. We’ll keep our ears and eyes peeled for any other information on the incoming device.
