MacBook Pro Gets Price Drop, Could Mean Refresh Is Ready for WWDC Unveil

MacBook Pro price dropUp until now, we were sorta, kinda expecting Apple to hit us with a MacBook Pro refresh at this year’s WWDC on June 11, but now we’re 99 percent sure. The laptop has been marked down $100 on Best Buy’s online store, signaling that a next generation model is right around the corner. The drop follows supply constraints early last month.

The past few months have been heavy with MacBook Pro rumors, with suggestions that we’ll see a Retina display, NVIDIA graphics, thinner design, USB 3.0 and Thunderbolt ports, and Intel’s new Ivy Bridge Core i7 quad-core processor with a clock speed of 2.7GHz.

Unfortunately, the boost in specs may come at a higher cost. We’ll know for sure if we’re getting a refresh once Apple’s event kicks off next month. We took a quick glance on Apple’s site, but all seems normal; the 13-inch 2.4GHz model still sits at $1,199.
