iMac May Also be Receiving a Retina Display

It seems that Apple may be going crazy for Retina Displays, and the technology may find its way on to the next version of the iMac.

Rumors surfaced yesterday that Apple might be adding the Retina Display technology to the next version of the MacBook Pro, but that might not be where the story ends.  According to a report from ABC News, sources have revealed to the U.S. television network that the iMac line of desktops will also be getting a higher resolution display.

There’s no word as of yet as to when we can expect to see these new desktops hitting Apple Stores around the world, but the current speculation suggest that they might very well appear with the MacBook Pros that are believed to already be in production.  Seeing as new models of iMacs appeared in benchmark tests alongside new versions of their laptop counterparts yesterday, that seems like a fairly safe bet.
