The spotlight may be on the HTC One X/EVO 4G LTE and Samsung Galaxy S III right now, but don’t think for a second that LG is just going to sit idly by. The Korean company reportedly has a flagship of its own in the works, set to do battle with the aforementioned handsets. And rather fittingly, the device is rumored to launch with the moniker of Eclipse 4G LTE.
Outed by a source who spoke with BriefMobile on Thursday, the device is rumored to launch with a quad-core 1.5GHz Snapdragon S4 processor, 13-megapixel camera, 16GB of internal storage, 1280×768-pixel LCD display, 2100 mAh battery and 2GB of Ram (much like the Optimus LTE2 we saw like week).
BriefMobile’s source said the device will be headed to Sprint, so folks eyeing the new EVO 4G LTE will have some thinking to do before making a purchase. Unfortunately, a tentative Q4 release is attached to the Eclipse 4G LTE, meaning a pretty lengthy wait is in store before such a monster device hits. At least Sprint’s LTE network will be rolled out by then.
