Get ready to settle in for a look at in-game footage for the upcoming Assassin’s Creed III. The trailer above checks in at two minutes and 25 seconds.
A few bits of the footage (the guard hanging from the tree and the legions of riflemen on the battlefield) were actually part of the eyes-on gameplay preview we had a chance to take in at PAX last month.
The bear attack, however, was not a part of the quick gameplay preview the audiences at PAX East were privy to. That moment of glory is brand new to my eyes, and it has me exceptionally excited. If Ubisoft can successfully create a sense of nature and the threats it presents, I will be happy.
The game looks gorgeous. If you’re wondering whether or not Assassin’s Creed III features a new engine, mark that box “yes.” As the opening of the trailer shows, this game makes use of the brand new AnvilNext.
As more comes for Assassin’s Creed III, we’ll have it. The game is currently set to launch for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC platforms on October 30th in North America and October 31st in Europe. Those dates are, of course, for 2012.
