Apple’s 7-inch iPad Mini Expected to Launch in October for $200 – $250

Yesterday we heard a report that Apple is allegedly planning to launch its highly rumored 7-inch iPad Mini tablet in August, but a new report on Thursday suggests the Cupertino-based company is actually prepping to launch the device in October instead. Rene Ritchie from iMore, which published the report, has a solid record of reporting on Apple, so the story may hold a bit more water than earlier reports. Ritchie’s source says Apple’s new iPad Mini is expected to flip the tablet market on its head much like Apple’s iPod set the MP3 player market on fire in the early 2000s.

iMore┬ásays it’s not positive on the screen’s size just yet and that it’s just using 7-inches “generically,” but the site’s source said the new iPad Mini will be identical in nearly every way to the current generation iPad, albeit with a smaller display. As such, pixel density is expected to be on a par to the iPhone 4S Retina display. $200 to $250 sounds like an amazing price, enough for me to ditch my current Android tablet.
