The original Company of Heroes launched back in 2006 for the PC platform. The game was almost an instant RTS classic, and it garnered a ton of positive critical feedback and coverage. Some would even color it the best PC game to launch in 2006.
Today, THQ announced by way of press release that Company of Heroes 2 will launch in 2013. The game, like its predecessor, will be developed by the folks at Relic Entertainment.
Within the press release was a quote from Greg Wilson, Producer at Relic Entertainment:
Company of Heroes 2 is a true successor, introducing a new front, new protagonists and new technology while retaining the unique mix of strategic gameplay and competitive multiplayer that made the original Company of Heroes such a success.
The game will launch in early 2013, and the press release only makes mention of the PC platform. We’ll have more on this title as it comes.
