The Galaxy S III hits later this month but you can start collecting your fleet of Samsung products early by preordering the Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 now. The tablet went up for presale on Friday for $399, with availability set for Sunday, May 13.
While it doesn’t quite pack the quad-core power of a Transformer Prime or Transformer Pad 300, the Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 is looking to hook would-be tablet owners with its lower price point. Its specs aren’t half bad, either. $399 will land folks a device equipped with Android 4.0, 16GB of storage, a 10.1-inch WXGA (1280 x 800) display, a 7,000mAh battery, a 3-megapixel rear camera, a microSD card slot (up to 32GB) and dual-core processor.
It’s not quite the tip-top of the tablet mountain, but it falls in line with recent pricing conventions. $500 is a bit high, but $400? That deal is much sweeter. Or you could opt for Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7-inch, which retails for $249.99.
