It seems that folks are excited for Call of Duty: Black Ops II judging by the pre-orders.
Announced just this week, Amazon is already accepting pre-orders for the next installment of the Call of Duty franchise, and it’s doing very well for them. According to VG247, the game had already tripled the pre-orders of the original Call of Duty: Black Ops in its first 36 hours. Amazon games manager Graham Chambers told the site, “Set to be one of the biggest games of the year, it’s great to see so much enthusiasm and anticipation for Call of Duty: Black Ops II.” He went on to add, “Bolder and better than before and with everything from a futuristic storyline through to single player mode, Zombies and multiplayer, Black Ops II promises something Call of Duty fans have never seen before”
The Call of Duty games released in-between Modern Warfare installments are developed by Treyarch, and have tended to not fare as well. Perhaps the excitement around this one comes from the futuristic setting, or it may be because the original Black Ops was better than most people expected, but any way you look at it, it would seem Activision has another hit on its hand.
My big question is if there may be a partnership in the future for Parrot – the company behind the AR Drone – as the drones in the picture above look an awful lot like their product. Hey, there was a remote controlled car released for the last game, so stranger things have happened.
