RIM: We’ll Still Release Keyboard-Equipped BlackBerry 10 Devices

BlackBerry 10 keyboardResearch In Motion may be heading toward an all-touchscreen future with BlackBerry 10, but the company says it doesn’t plan to abandon its hardware QWERTY fans. In addition to addressing the issue during Tuesday’s keynote, a RIM spokesman confirmed with PhoneScoop that keyboard-equipped devices running the company’s newest software will arrive after the first wave of touchscreen-only smartphones hits. Surprising? Nope. While touchscreens are all the rage, nothing beats a good old fashioned physical keyboard — at least for BlackBerry fans. The company hasn’t given any indication of what we can expect in the hardware department later this year, but just imagine a BlackBerry Bold-type device running RIM’s new fangled OS.
