RIM may not be ready to show off the first BlackBerry 10 hardware, but that isn’t stopping from leaks happening.
Just yesterday RIM confirmed that no hardware would be handed out at BlackBerry world, but that hasn’t stopped a render of the supposed Dev Alpha unit from leaking out. Engadget ran the image you see above this morning and says that the display will clock in at 4.2-inches, and 1280 x 768 resolution. That means it’s actually above the 720p HD we’ve seen in similarly sized screens. Whomever the source is also stated that the device will have 16GB of internal storage and 1GB of RAM, but that’s it on the details for the time being.
The lack of a QWERTY keyboard, while not a first for RIM, definitely makes you wonder if this is a sign of things to come for the company from here on out. Could we be seeing the Waterloo-based company finally moving into the world of touchscreen only phones? Only time will tell.
We’re on the ground at BlackBerry World in Orlando, so should one of these show up somewhere at the show, we’ll be sure to bring you all of the images and video we can!
