Verizon Store

Verizon announced on Monday that starting on May first it will launch its latest prepaid offering of unlimited talk, text and 1GB of data for $80 a month. The first device to cruise Big Red’s off-contract offerings will be Samsung’s Illusion sans 4G. This modest Android device features a 3.5-inch display, 1GHz Hummingbird processor, 3-megapixel shooter and Android 2.3. If you’re not too picky and you’re just looking to hookup with Verizon’s critically acclaimed network, then the Samsung Illusion can be yours for the price of $169.99.

Now if your smartphone is already pushing postpaid status, but you’re looking to have a contract-free 4G hotspot, Verizon’s Jetpack MiFi 4510L LTE mobile hotspot will run $130. Prepaid plans start at $15 for 250 MB a week and quickly jump to $60 and $90 per month for 3GB or 10GB. Of course some of these plans may sound a bit on the steep side to some, but remember it’s no strings attached and like the kid said in the commercial, “it’s Verizon.”
