Skype 4.0 for iOS Brings UI and Stability Improvements

by Mark Hearn | April 30, 2012April 30, 2012 12:45 pm PST

Not letting Android users have all of the fun, Skype has released version 4.0 of its iOS app. The latest software bump brings the ability to reposition your video preview when on a call, improved accessibility, an updated design for contacts and messages, a new sign in screen, bug fixes and most notably the ability to automatically restart the app in the event of an unexpected shutdown. If Apple’s FaceTime hans’t been cutting it, or if you’re just wanting to try something new, you can grab the latest version of Skype for iOS via the App Store, as long as your device is running iOS 4.3 or higher. Now that both Android and iOS versions of Skype have received a bit of fine tuning, hopefully the Microsoft-owned company will be inspired to bring some needed enhancements to its Windows Phone family member’s recently released application.
