That “Wake Up” campaign staged outside an Australian Apple store apparently had nothing to do with Samsung, the company said on Saturday. Because of Samsung’s previous attacks on Apple customers, many suggested the Korean company was behind the whole ordeal. But in a statement made to SlashGear, Samsung claimed it had “nothing to do with the ‘Wake-Up Campaign.'”
So the question is, then, what spurred Tongue, the marketing firm which staged the “protest,” to target Apple? And why? Perhaps we’ll have the answers soon enough.
Unfortunately for Sammy, even if the company wasn’t behind the campaign, its name is now unjustly (or justly?) attached to the “Wake Up” attack against Apple’s fan base. They say all publicity is good publicity. But heading into such a large release like the Galaxy S III, I’m not so sure this is what Samsung needs at the moment.
