T-Mobile’s HTC One S may be the Belle of the Ball right now, but that doesn’t mean the carrier won’t have grand plans for the coming months. TmoNews has acquired not only release dates for upcoming devices, but when certain handsets, such as the Galaxy S II, can expect Ice Cream Sandwich.
Before we dive in, it’s important to note that many of these dates are subject to change — and let’s not even get started on how unreliable attaching an ICS upgrade schedule to certain devices has been.
However, according to TmoNews, Galaxy S II owners can expect Ice Cream Sandwich to hit on Monday, May 14, while HTC Sensation 4G and Amaze 4G owners will have to wait until June 16 to receive Google’s latest OS. Should you be excited? Definitely. But let’s air on the side of caution: T-Mobile can change these dates at anytime.
As for new device releases; It looks to be an all Samsung/Huawei affair this summer:
- 5/9 — Huawei Astro
- 7/11 — Huawei Buddy
- 7/11 — Huawei Phoenix
- 7/11 — Samsung Gravity TXT
- 8/1 — Samsung Cacao
- 8/15 — Samsung Apex Q
Notably absent from the list: the Galaxy S III and Galaxy Note — the latter of which we’ve already spotted dressed in T-Mobile garb. Judging from the list, T-Mobile’s summer doesn’t look like it’s shaping up to be a humongous blockbuster, but perhaps the carrier will reveal more high-end devices when the time is right.
