During today’s earnings conference call, Sprint’s president of network operations, Steve Elfman stated that the company plans on bringing its 4G WiMAX network to both Boost Mobile and Virgin Mobile starting sometime next quarter. This lines up with our previous report about Sprint keeping WiMAX alive through its MVNOs. Aside from prepaid customers gaining faster data speeds, Sprint’s postpaid customer’s data speeds may improve due to some of its 3G network’s existing load being migrated to the company’s WiMAX network. It’s nice to hear Sprint’s Network Vision strategy will improve services for existing 3G customers stranded outside of its WiMAX and LTE coverage.
