We’re 99.99% sure that Samsung’s press event on May 3 will finally see the unveiling of the Korean company’s long-awaited Galaxy S III. But in case you needed yet another hint, then check out this reference for the “galaxy s3” in the description for Samsung’s Unpacked 2012 app for Android.
It’s an official Samsung app available now from Google Play, so the description was provided by the company itself. What’s surprising about the name’s appearance is that Samsung has been so secretive about its next flagship handset up to this point, choosing to refer to the device only as the “Next Galaxy.”
The free app provides invited guests with information on the venue for the event, directions on how to get there, and other helpful information. However, much of its content isn’t available until May 3. It’s likely the term “galaxy s3” is within its description simply as a tag for search purposes, but Samsung clearly wants users who are searching for the handset to find this app.
Once again, we’re almost certain what next Thursday’s event will bring, but this just adds a little more strength to our theory.
