Google announced on Tuesday that Gmail users will now be able to store up to 10GB of email for free. Google only offered 7.5GB of free storage until today but made the announcement boost in celebration of the introduction of its Google Drive cloud storage product. The increase should hit your account during the next 24 hours, Google software engineer Nicholas Behrens said in a brief blog post. Hooray for more storage! Google only offered 1GB of free email storage when Gmail made its debut in 2004.
