In what is likely a move to steal Sprint’s thunder, it looks as though Verizon is preparing to drop the price of its Galaxy Nexus the day after the Now Network’s iteration debuts on April 22. A MAP (minimum advertised price) acquired by Droid-Life reflects the rumored price reduction, which Verizon will reportedly drop to $199.99 on two-year contract — that’s $100 less than the current price. Droid-Life says the decreased price could point to the arrival of Verizon’s 16GB version of the Nexus, but admits that it’s unlikely.
Also worth noting: Both the Razr and Razr Maxx are coming to the end of their MAP periods, which typically means new hardware is around the corner. Rumors of a Razr HD have cropped up over the past week, so perhaps we’ll see an announcement from Verizon soon.
