Some new information has shown up for the Samsung Galaxy S III, but unlike the usual leaks, these come from fairly reliable sources.
First up, the German arm of Amazon put up a listing for the Samsung Galaxy S III, but quickly pulled it. How accurate the specs were, however, is up for debate as it listed 16GB of internal memory, but only expandable by an additional 16GB which MicroSD comes in variations up to 32GB. It also listed a 4.7-inch Super AMOLED screen while Super AMOLED Plus has been the most heavily rumored possibility. We’ve seen listings like this show up in the past for other phones that ended up not being completely accurate, so we’d recommend not taking these as anything official as of yet.
Of a more official nature, Samsung Denmark posted the image you see above on its Facebook page. The date corresponds with the upcoming event in London – which we will be attending – and the shape under the sheet is obviously a phone, but it looks vaguely Galaxy Nexus-like as opposed to what we’ve seen from the Galaxy S series. Apparently we’ll discover exactly what it is on May 3.
The Amazon listing should leave you with some questions, and while we can’t be sure the shape under the Samsung sheet is the final design, it’s the closest thing we’ve seen yet to an official image.
