It looks like the initiative to erect mini Apple stores inside 25 select Target locations is finally under way. Pictures on Thursday were snapped at a Target location in Vista, California, showing off a boutique that touts Apple’s famous minimalist stylings: clean displays, no clutter and easy-to-digest information. Unsurprisingly, the iPad and iPhone seem to be the main focus of these mini-stores, with both being put on display to give customers the opportunity to play with each.
It’s been quite a while since we’ve heard anything from either side about the project. The partnership between the two companies, which was announced at the beginning of this year, promised to make the Apple brand “more accessible” to shoppers where full-fledged Apple stores weren’t available. It’s unclear what other Target locations will receive similar “stores-within-a-store” treatment from Apple, but we’ll be sure to update you as soon as we have the full list.
