Diablo III’s “The Monk” Gets Trailer

One of 2012’s most anticipated releases has just trailered an all new, previously announced character, The Monk.

This is the second trailer Blizzard has released to show off the classes in Diablo III. The first time they talked about one of the classic characters in the franchise, “The Barbarian.” These trailers aim to give some background information on the character, as well as showcase the character in gameplay action for the upcoming game.

With the second character trailer Blizzard focused on The Monk, we find an expert in agile close quarters melee combat. The Monk is here to restore balance to the corrupted lands of sanctuary in the name of his 1,001 gods. The trailer above claims The Monk to be a weapon of the gods themselves; one that will serve them until his death.

From the looks of it, The Monk seems to be a pretty awesome character option for Diablo III. The Monk’s ability to build up spirit by landing melee attacks in order to preform special attacks seems to be pretty cool. His lightning-fast martial arts style of combat will be a great complement to the brutal blunt force of The Barbarian and will give players variety in the way they chose to play the game.

What do you think about The Monk in Diablo III? If you’re excited, you can get your hands on the game when it’s released on May 15th for the PC and Mac platforms.
