Walmart has started to outfit at least one of its locations with new product displays centered on the iPhone and iPad. The first location that was spotted with the new counters is located in Arkansas, where the company is headquartered. The displays look like one would expect from an Apple Store location: counters are made of wood and there’s a chic glowing sign that displays the iPhone and iPad loud and clear for would-be customers. Make no mistake, however; Walmart has been selling Apple’s products for quite some time. In fact, the big-box retailer began selling the new iPad at 12:01 a.m. on launch day, hours ahead of Apple Store locations. Target and Apple also recently announced a partnership called “Shops at Target” in which Target will provide a dedicated area for customers to purchase Apple products.
