Well, folks, after months and months of rumors and speculation, one of this year’s biggest Android handsets will finally get its unveiling in London next month. I’m talking, of course, about the Galaxy S III. Samsung has now begun distributing invites for the event, which will be held on May 3, asking the press to “come and meet the next Galaxy.”
The invite above was sent to Dutch site Tweakers, and other than its teasing tagline, it gives very little away. While we’re almost certain that this event will see the unveiling of the long-awaited Galaxy S III, we’re not entirely sure what the device will offer. What we do know is, it’ll have to be pretty special if it wants to maintain the success its predecessor has enjoyed.
According to recent rumors, the handset will be just 7mm thin, but it certainly won’t be skimpy when it comes to specifications. We’re expecting a 4.65-inch Super AMOLED display with a 1280 x 720 resolution, Samsung’s own quad-core Exynos processor, LTE connectivity, an 8-megapixel camera, and lots more.
Whether or not it’ll be as impressive as the new HTC One remains to be seen, but we’re guessing it’ll give the world’s first quad-core handset a good run for its money.
Are you looking forward to May 3?
