Rockstar has gone and shrunk the original Max Payne campaign down for play on the go with Max Payne Mobile. The title features touchscreen controls (which terrifies me) and the full, original, cinematic action-shooter that blew our minds more than 10 years ago.
The game is currently selling for $2.99 and is a universal app. The release announcing the mobile transition included this bit from Sam Houser, Founder of Rockstar Games:
“Max Payne was the original cinematic action-shooter…We’re really proud to bring its intense gunplay and dark story to mobile devices. Remedy did an amazing job with this game and it still feels fresh today.”
Why has Rockstar elected to sell the original title on the App Store for $2.99 right now? Max Payne 3 launches for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC platforms this May (May 15th for consoles, 29th for PC). Cross-promotion is great for companies and fans who want to immerse themselves in an experience.
