Toshiba announced three new “Excite” tablets on Tuesday, including 13.3-inch, 10.1-inch and 7.7-inch models. While each tablet has its own unique form factor, all three devices offer similar specs: an NVIDIA quad-core Tegra 3 processor, 1GB of RAM, a 5-megapixel rear facing camera, a 2-megapixel front facing camera, a microUSB port and Android 4.0. In an effort to appeal to the masses, Toshiba’s blanket approach will try to cover the needs of any potential prospect. Check out these exciting options!
Toshiba Excite 13
The largest of Toshiba’s newly announced trio, the Excite 13 features a 13.3-inch AutoBrite LED backlit cinematic display with a 1600 x 900-pixel resolution, a four speaker sound system by Toshiba and SRS, a full-size SD card slot and a micro-HDMI port to connect the tablet to an even larger display. Priced at $649.99 (32GB) and $749.99 (64GB), this massive, but thin 10.2mm-thick, tablet offers 13 hours of battery life and is aimed at fans of on the go entertainment.
Toshiba Excite 10
As its name implies, the Excite 10 is equipped with a 10-inch AutoBrite LED backlit display with a 1280 x 800-pixel resolution and 10-finger multi-touch support. Ideal for web browsing and reading, this slim slate measures in at just 0.35 inches thick. Like its larger counterpart, the Excite 10 also features a full-size SD card slot and a microHDMI port, which allows its user to connect to a larger display. The Excite 10 oddly only offers up to 10 hours of battery life, however. Available in three storage options, the Excite 10 is priced at $449.99 (16GB), $529.99 (32GB) and $649.99 (64GB).
Toshiba Excite 7.7
The smallest of the bunch, the Excite 7.7, is Toshiba’s first tablet to feature an AMOLED display. At 13.4 ounces and 0.3 inches thin, this tablet can easily fit into a jacket pocket or book bag. Unlike its larger family members, the Excite 7.7 features a microSD card slot, which will allow its users to share and exchange information with a companion smartphone. Available in two storage options, the Excite 7.7 is priced at $499.99 (16GB), $579.99 (32GB).
The Excite 10, the Excite 7.7 and 13 are expected to launch sometime in June. Do any of Toshiba’s upcoming tablets “excite” you? If so, please let us know which one you have your eye on.
