If you didn’t blow all of your saving on a new HTC One smartphone yesterday, then you may like to know that Motorola’s second-generation XOOM 2 and XOOM 2 Media Edition tablets are now available to purchase in the U.K. from Carphone Warehouse.
First announced back in November 2011, these two slates are significantly lighter than their predecessors, and they both ship with the Android 3.2 Honeycomb operating system. (No word on Ice Cream Sandwich just yet.) They’re also very similar internally, though the XOOM 2 features a 10.1-inch HD display and 10 hours of battery life while web browsing, while the XOOM 2 Media Edition features a smaller, 8.2-inch display.
They also feature a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera with digital zoom, auto-focus, and an LED flash; a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera; a 1.2GHz dual-core processor; 1GB of RAM; and 16GB of internal storage.
The XOOM 2 will cost you £349.99 (approx. $555) if you opt for a Wi-Fi-only model, or £449.99 (approx. $714) if you’d like 3G connectivity as well. Because of its smaller display, the XOOM 2 Media Edition costs less, starting at £299.99 (approx. $476) for the Wi-Fi-only model, and £399.99 (approx. $634) for the Wi-Fi + 3G model.
Will you be picking up a new Motorola XOOM 2 this weekend?
