As a massive soccer fan, Football Manager is one of my favorite games of all time. The opportunity to lead my team to victory while I’m on-the-go has kept me addicted to Football Manager Handheld for iOS since the title made its App Store debut, and I recently chose Football Manager Handheld 2012 as one of my favorite iOS games of 2011.
This month, the title will be coming to Android devices. Sega announced this week that on Wednesday, April 11, Football Manager Handheld 2012 will be available to purchase from Google Play for the first time.
Like its iOS counterpart, the title allows you to take the hot seat at any club from a choice of leagues from 12 countries, assuming full control over transfers, training, tactics, and managing the team on match days — “a job which can be tackled in either short, commute-sized sessions or in mammoth sittings on the sofa.”
Also included is a new ‘Challenge Mode’, which made its debut this year. Rather than beginning a fresh career, challenge mode throws you right in at the deep end at a club in turmoil, whether it’s turning things around after a run of bad results, dealing with an “injury crisis” that has left nearly all of your first-team players unavailable, or saving the club from relegation.
The game will be available for £6.99, according to its developer, Sports Interactive. Which is likely to mean around $10 for those of you in the U.S.
