Sprint HTC EVO 4G LTE Hands-On!

EVO 4G LTE

We just scrambled over to the corner of HTC and Sprint’s press event and grabbed photos of the brand new EVO 4G LTE as fast as we could for you. The phone feels incredibly thin, despite offering a 2,000mAh battery and support for 4G LTE networks. I love the design, but really wish Sprint and HTC kept the polycarbonate build throughout — the glossy area around the camera attracted finger prints almost immediately. The phone is clearly very similar to the One X, but it offers a dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor instead of an NVIDIA Tegra 3 chip. That trade-off was made for 4G LTE support.

The camera is insanely fast at snapping photos, as you’ll see in a hands-on video I’ll post shortly, and I love that there’s an option to take photos while filming video. As we found with the One X, the display is simply stunning. It’s bright and offers a super sharp 720p HD resolution.

Sprint EVO fans are going to fall in love with this phone. Pre-orders will begin in May and it will launch for just $199.99, so we imagine this thing is going to sell like gangbusters. Be sure to check out our full gallery below.
