Ashton Kutcher, currently starring in Two and a Half Men, has reportedly been cast as Steve Jobs in the bio film of the Apple co-founder’s life.
Despite it being April Fools Day, Variety is standing by a report that Ashton Kutcher will indeed be donning the black turtleneck to play Steve Jobs in the upcoming film of his life. Reportedly Joshua Michael Stern (Swing Vote) will pick up the directing reins from a script written by Matt Whiteley.
The report states that the film will cover “Steve Jobs from wayward hippie to co-founder of Apple, where he became one of the most revered creative entrepreneurs of our time.” This is leading to speculation that the film will cover more of his early years than the later days of the company he lef successfully for so long.
As we said, Variety is standing by this story being real despite the odd timing and says that the story will be the cover story for tomorrow’s print edition of the infamous film trade magazine.
