T-Mobile has introduced all new meaning to the term junk mail. Customers are reporting that the carrier has apparently started to incorporate advertisements in Android users’ notification screen through its updated My Account application. The app is designed to be a tool for T-Mobile customers to better keep track and manage their account, but it sounds like the carrier also saw it as an opportunity to hock goods and services. Several customers have voiced their displeasure in T-Mobile’s support forums, with one representative responding to suggest ways to alter the app’s behavior, though the solution sounds like it doesn’t quite work for everyone. The app cannot be uninstalled either, and customers can’t opt out, meaning those advertisements will be in your notification bar whether you want them there or not. According to PhoneScoop, T-Mobile is supposedly working on a solution to halt the ads altogether.
