RIM Announces Fiscal Q4 Results, Revenue of $4.2 Billion Misses Street Estimates

Research In Motion just announced its fiscal fourth quarter results for 2011. The company reported revenue of $4.2 billion and EPS of $0.80, missing Street estimates of $4.54 billion in revenues and $0.81 EPS. RIM originally said it expected revenues of $4.6 billion for the quarter and an EPS between $0.80 and $0.95.

RIM sold 14.1 million BlackBerry smartphone units and reported revenue of $5.2 billion during the fiscal third quarter of 2011.
