Temple Run for Android Finally Hits Google Play

Just as promised, Temple Run from Imangi Studios has finally arrived on Android today, and is now available to download for free from Google Play.

The title has already become a huge hit on iOS, boasting over 40 million downloads since its release back in August 2011, and over 7 million active users per day. It’s now hoping to add to that success with support for Android devices.

Initial reviews of Temple Run have been terrific, and the game currently holds a 4.5 star rating on Google Play. But that’s really no surprise; after all, it’s just the same great game that iOS users have been enjoying:

You’ve stolen the cursed idol from the temple, and now you have to run for your life to escape the Evil Demon Monkeys nipping at your heels. Test your reflexes as you race down ancient temple walls and along sheer cliffs. Swipe to turn, jump and slide to avoid obstacles, collect coins and buy power ups, unlock new characters, and see how far you can run!

Temple Run is free to download and play, but if you have cash to splash, you can choose to purchase additional content like power-ups and extra characters. However, this really isn’t necessary; it’s just a fun without those things.

Have you downloaded Temple Run for Android yet? What do you think of it?
